Sarah joined Merali Beedle in January 2024 as Assistant Practice Manager, following a career change as a qualified Private Client solicitor.
Sarah has worked in the legal sphere since 2013 and solely for London law firms since 2014, covering Private Client, Corporate, Aviation and Debt Recovery. The variety of areas she has worked in has helped her understand the different sectors of Merali Beedle.
She is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the firm, including supporting Clients, Consultants and the Operations and Administration Team. In particular, she focuses on the robustness of the firm’s regulatory and compliance processes and policy making. Sarah is instrumental in the drafting and review of our policies for the firm. She also has a strong awareness of the AML and CDD requirements, particularly for overseas entities. She has an extensive knowledge of the Register of Overseas Entities and how this dovetails with the compliance requirements of the firm. Sarah also assists with the onboarding of new staff members and the renewal of the firm’s compliance requirements and various accreditations, including CQS.
Sarah qualified as a Private Client solicitor in 2021, having qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2019. Sarah currently assists clients with Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and the coordination of information to be submitted for the Register of Overseas Entities initial application, renewal or removal. She also acts for international clients assisting with their tax compliance obligations in the UK, primarily in relation to de-enveloping matters or their annual reporting requirements. She has worked as a fee earner in this area since 2016. Predominantly, her clients are either from or with interests in the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Middle East, USA, Greece, the Western Pacific, Africa and the Caribbean. Her clients are typically high net worth or ultra-high net worth individuals and families. She regularly assists Trust Companies and Family Offices in a professional and discrete manner.
Sarah’s background as a solicitor has helped her balance the needs of the fee earners together with the best interests of the firm, providing clear and concise guidance and advice to all areas of Merali Beedle.
